  • Pharmabiotics Conference 2014

    The International Pharmabiotics Conference is a event organised by Quartz Business Media in association with the Pharmabiotic Research Institute and will be held 29-30 October, 2014 in Paris (France).

    Advanced Accelerator Applications S.A. announced on 10 July 2014 its results for the financial year 2013, with sales of €53.8 million (+31.77% vs. 2012).

  • SEMICON Europa: Innovation Village

    SEMI will expand the Silicon Innovation Forum this year, hosting an additional event in conjunction with SEMICON Europa 2014 (October 7-9, 2014) in Grenoble.

    The SIF Committee will then review the applications and invite a certain number of applicants to participate in Innovation Village.
    There is no fee to submit your innovation application. However, if accepted, you will be expected topay the following fee to reserve your SIF participant package: 700€ for SEMI members and 900€ for non-SEMI members.

  • European Business Development Conference (EBDC)

    The European Business Development Conference (EBDC) will take place in Dresden on October 7 and 8, 2014.

    This years’ motto is Big Deals, Big Data, Better Drugs .

    The programme includes top level speakers from international Pharma and Biotech companies and allows for partnering and for the discussion of new challenges in drug development.

  • A Torino 900 mila euro da Telethon per la ricerca contro le malattie rare

    Sono 5 i gruppi torinesi finanziati quest’anno da Telethon: hanno ottenuto fondi per un totale di 869 mila euro destinati a individuare cause, meccanismi di evoluzione e possibili strategie terapeutiche.

    I progetti sono stati selezionati dalla Commissione medico scientifica di Telethon. Trentadue scienziati di diversi Paesi nel mondo che si sono avvalsi nella loro valutazione di ben 326 revisori esterni, ricercatori provenienti da 26 nazioni.

    A Torino hanno ottenuto i finanziamenti i gruppi dell’Università di Torino di Fiorella Altruda (Dipartimento di biotecnologie molecolari e scienze per la salute), Emilio Hirsch (dello stesso dipartimento), Giovanni Camussi e Alfredo Brusco (Dipartimento di scienze mediche), Filippo Tempia del Neuroscience Institute Cavalieri Ottolenghi.

  • Quattro piemontesi al top della ricerca mondiale nella medicina mondiale

    Nela classifica internazionale delle beautiful mind nel campo della sanità mondiale, stilata dall’istituto Thomson Reuters (3.200 menti scientifiche più brillanti del nostro tempo, fra cui 55 italiane), ci sono 4 piemontesi: l’ematologo Boccadoro, il genetista nucleare Bardelli e gli onco-ematologi Palumbo e Saflio.

    Mario Boccadoro, professore di ematologia e direttore della Città della Salute, fa parte della commissione ministeriale su Stamina.
    Alberto Bardelli, genetista nucleare, lavora a Candiolo.
    Antonio Palumbo e Giuseppe Saglio, oncoematologi al San Luigi di Orbassano.

    Negli ultimi anni il mercato del materiale medico-ospedaliero in Marocco ha conosciuto un aumento sostenuto dovuto principalmente a due fattori: i cambiamenti demografici e strutturali che stanno avendo luogo nel Paese e i piani del governo per sviluppare il sistema sanitario. E’ aumentato il numero degli ospedali e dei centri di assistenza medica di base, cosi come il numero dei medici sia nel settore pubblico che in quello privato. L’’aumento della popolazione previsto per i prossimi anni e il più ampio accesso alle cure mediche fanno supporre un bisogno più elevato di materiale medico-ospedaliero con nuove opportunità commerciali per i fabbricanti, i distributori di prodotti sanitari e per le imprese di gestione ospedaliera.

  • Global Cluster Biomarker Programme

    CEBR on behalf of european biocluster, bioPmed included launched a Global directory on companies and r&d centers working in biomarker field.

    The launch of the online directory at BIO 2014 by CEBR was a great success.

    The Programme is building and expanding a Directory of commercial and academic biomarker actors, in order to build partnerships between clusters and individual organisations, contributing to the delivery of the full potential from biomarkers in clinical and other applications.

    The website hosts a directory of over 200 profiles from biomarker-active SMEs, large companies, research groups and universities.
    Since june 2014, the directory has been in daily use, with over 2000 hits since the website was first launched.
    We continue to receive profiles from CEBR members and after the holidays will upgrade with the latest biomarker SMEs and add full cluster profiles.
    The programme holds much potential for growth, with SME and cluster support – particularly in building partnerships beyond Europe.
