The commercial platforms consisting in scientific services Gem Forlab and Ephoran are part of the “Bioindustry Park System”. They are independent scientific laboratories offering professional commercial scientific services and providing companies operating in the life sciences sector with solutions to their R&D departments and acceleration needs.

GEM FORLAB gives continuity to the experience of ABLE Biosciences as a global provider of scientific technology and services to the Life Science industry. It delivers solutions to companies of all size and shapes.

GEM FORLAB performs its activities by means of three technology areas: Organic Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics and Cell and Molecular Biology & Immunoassay.

The Chemistry Unit provides all essential components for early drug discovery such as synthesis of chemical intermediates, process impurities, reference compounds, drug metabolites, and pro-drug; lead generation and optimization; bioconjugate chemistry; targeted molecules for MRI and others Molecular Imaging techniques.

ABLE Biosciences is a Test Facility GLP certified for small and large molecules quantitative analysis in biological matrices by means of Mass Spectrometry, Immunometric assays and qPCR and it is included in OsSC register of Private Laboratories qualified to perform analysis on samples derived from drug clinical trials (phase I-II-III) in compliance with GCP.

Molecular Biology

Ephoran Multi-Imaging Solutions is a Contract Research Organization providing Preclinical Imaging services and expertise in order to study, develop and promote imaging techniques applied to the development processes in the field of pharmaceutics and biotechnology.



The company’s mission is to study, develop and pursue the application of imaging technologies in preclinical drug research and development.

Ephoran is part of a research and development area that pays more and more  attention to the use of the imaging technologies in the development of innovative drugs.

Actually the Imaging technologies can significantly help validating biomarkers as a fundamental fact in preclinical studies or pharmacodynamics in case of early studies on human patients.  Ephoran contributes to the development of diagnostic tools, tracers, reagents and methodologies for the experimental imaging and aims to help high growth potential Pharma and Biotech companies by speeding up the development of their projects, reducing costs and time to market.



Ephoran, in partnership with its members and partners such as BIPCA, can offer a wide range of preclinical research services along with the entire value chain that starts from research and ends up in preclinical regulatory testing and the development or fine tuning of dedicated investigative or analytical techniques for preclinical and clinical studies and their application from the preclinical to the advanced clinical phases. I servizi di Imaging preclinico comprendono tutte le tecniche di imaging, da quelle in uso comune nella pratica clinica (quali MRI, PET, CT, SPECT, US) fino all’Imaging ottico (OI, nel visibile e nel vicino infrarosso NIR) e all’Imaging Fotoacustico dedicati esclusivamente alla ricerca su modelli animali.
